So this past Saturday, I attended the Day in the Life of an LNC Workshop put on by Lisa Wade of Wade Nurse Consulting.

Y’all, this is what you call a workshop. Everyone knew it too and was inquiring about the next workshop. Lisa, we waiting on part 2!

Sometimes there are workshops that are ummmm not workshops. They empty. They come thru like a work meeting power point. No explanations. No elaborating. Just empty.

Well, this workshop had substance. There was meat on the bone. I left full. The guest speakers were passionate and all had more to offer if it weren’t for time constraints.

Lisa let us watch her daily morning meeting with her assistant. Very impressive organizational skills.

Guests included an attorney who created a timeline app that will streamline all medical record needs. Next up was an LNC who went over the strengths and weaknesses of a case study she provided. She also gave us report writing tips and standards. Third was an attorney who encouraged us to step outside our nurse comfort zones. Finally, an LNC who does IME work got us all wondering about IME’s now.

Lisa kept reminding us throughout that we just have to jump in and get started. Quit waiting until you think you know all there is to know about legal nursing in order to start.

I left highly motivated and will be ready to report at the follow up call the leaps I will make.
